Benefits of a Corporate Getaway
Get out of the office!
This winter we recommend that you get your team out of the office on a corporate getaway which has proven to boost team spirit and productivity.
Despite the term corporate getaway, it’s not an escape to get away from work. Rather it is an opportunity to take work to another level and be aware of higher objectives and shared goals.
Benefits of a Corporate Getaway
The logic behind escaping the office is that a regular workday is full of distractions that bombard the average employee. Cut the distractions, force the team together and the relationships & skills they develop during the getaway carry into the workplace.
Being away from the normal environment allows dedicated focus and concentration. In addition, a company getaway is often a perk for an employee to stay “somewhere nice” that they may not do on their own.
How to plan a company getaway
We believe that careful goal setting, planning, attention to detail and implementation are the keys to a successful getaway. Below is a 5 step guide to help you tackle and address some of the key questions required when planning a company retreat.
- Motivate: why should we get out of the office?
- Set Goals: what are we hoping to achieve?
- Budget: how much can we spend?
- Plan Logistics: how do we manage and implement our getaway?
- Review: How did it go?

Where to go on a corporate getaway
We recommend choosing a destination close to home (within 1 - 2 hours from Cape Town) and a venue that offers both accommodation, meals of meeting space on site. It is generally agreed that a pleasant and calm location with fresh air and nature produces great conference getaways with positive results, due to the inspiration.
Be sure to consider the following when selecting destination and venue
- Time of the year
- Number of Rooms
- Meeting Spaces and capacity
- Onsite Activities
